PERSONAL TRAINING
WITH SNOW CHARPENTIER

You’re ready to become the fit person you were hoping to be.

You just need a plan that actually works for you, and works with you.

Maybe you’re following online or group class workouts that seemed like the right solution at first, but you're realizing that they aren't really pushing you to your true potential.

Or, you are trying to do it on your own at the gym, but never know whether you're lifting correctly or with the technique that actually gives you the results. You're finding a disconnection between monotonous machine work, versus how you functionally live your life. Your workouts might seem random, or you might be following a program that's not even the ideal one for your mobility or strength level to load your tissues correctly or even see results.

You might be:

  • Someone who’s overcoming an injury, and looking how to learn the proper mechanics of moving your body so you can transition safely back to fitness.

  • A female experiencing the hormonal shifts of peri-menopause and learning how strength training can help rebalance your body.

  • An endurance athlete ready to build more strength and power strategically without the risk of “overtraining”,

  • A busy mom trying to regain strength and confidence after pregnancy, but needs a program that delivers results with minimum training time.

  • Or you may be an athlete who may be experiencing occasional pain and want to truly assess what your strength imbalances and mobility limitations are and how to correct them.

  • You're someone who wants to make the most of your time in the gym and see real progress.

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

I found Snow and Iron Haven Fitness after herniating at L4/L5 for the second time in 5 years. I had done multiple rounds of physical therapy and cortisone shots. My second herniation was devastating to me and I was afraid to move my body. I realized through working with Snow that the workouts I were doing on my own were not helping to develop the core strength I needed to not re-injure. Snow is hyper-competent, and  the exact bridge I needed between physical therapy and the real world.

In two months I already feel the difference in my strength and abilities. We also work heavily on proper body mechanics, which has been imperative in my recovery. Snow is able to pivot with ease the day of a session if my back is flaring and I love that. I never feel like I can't go to the gym because I know that there is always something I can work on because she has given me that confidence. I have been so thrilled with the results that I bought my husband a 5 pack of sessions with her and he is also super stoked with his progress!

Personal-Training

Not seeing results with what you’ve already tried?

Plateaus and lack of progress can stem from doing the wrong type of training for your individual needs. In fact, your body may become more stressed, or more prone to injury when the training doesn’t match what your functional capacity is. In order to know what YOU need to see progress, we start with an assessment of the following:

What are your flexibility and
mobility limitations?

Often people dive into a fitness program and try movements that they think are working, but may be doing harm if the proper moving mechanics and end ranges of motions aren’t there. In our first session, we do a comprehensive flexibility and mobility assessment to see where you need to scale and where you might be compensating with lack of functional mechanics.

Do you have strength imbalances that we need to address?

If one side of your body is significantly working harder or less than the other, then do you think this could affect how you move day to day in terms of posture, loading joints equally, or occasional pain? I also help assess imbalances in your strength in push-pull-squat-hinge mechanics so you are more informed about how to address these.

What is your capacity and load?

There are things that you can’t control, yet things that you can control to help you progress. Often, the loads and stresses in our life can add up until we are at max capacity. I’ll help you deep dive into how to look at and reduce the loads and stresses while helping you increasing your overall capacity and capability to move better.

Train to support your lifestyle.

Maybe you are already active (hiking, biking, running or skiing) and need strength work to supplement what you are doing. I ensure our training complements your activities so you feel more energetic and well-recovered, without feeling overtrained.

Get ready for the most personalized training experience of your life.

Most personal trainers pull a training program they've used hundreds of times before and give it to almost all of their clients. The issue?  Trying to have you do movement variations that may not be ideal for accelerating YOUR results.

Snow handwrites each program uniquely to every person she works with: Warm up drills that fit your mobility needs. Strength or conditioning components that fit your goals.
